Women & Religion in the News

If we’re going to change the world, and I suggest we do, then we need to keep up with it . . . Read the news. Digest it. Think about it. Pray about it. Respond to it. Imagine what you would do differently. Pray some more. Let God work on your heart. Avoid complicity. Here’s a few recaps from this week’s women & religion in the news:
- “On Monday, the ninth young Tibetan – and the first woman – killed herself in the small town of Aba by self-immolation in a protest against Chinese rule.” God never asks us to hurt ourselves.
- “Libya’s new leaders say they will make Islamic Sharia law main source of legislation.” Looks like Gaddafi’s death means bad news for women.
- “Vatican Calls for Central World Bank” Does anyone else find it a little creepy when religion mingles this closely with money?
- “IBM’s Rometty Breaks Ground as Company’s First Female Leader” Awesome.

We can’t change the world Angie and the thinking of others. We ourselfs have to change to be a good example for others. That’s a small step towards a better world. It starts in our own environment. We watch the news, okay! But God only can help the bad people in a war or so…, when they are willing to change to better, otherwise our prayers are for nothing. – In some countries women have less value as men in religion and society. That’s bad NEWS for women. We had that in our culture in USA, Europe as well. In church, men sitting on one side and women on the other side. Now it’ disappeard, THANK GOD! We certainly have in our days women who reach something in religion. – Look at the bride side of life and do not focus on the bad! – In this spirt I close with blessings, Swiss Rose
