Living In-Between Seasons

Do you feel foggy and disillusioned about the direction your life is headed? We go though various seasons on our path to Spiritual Wellness. If you feel uncertain about the future, then you may be living in-between spiritual seasons.
Living in-between seasons can feel confusing and frustrating. When the seasons change, the weather is unpredictable. You may be greeted by scorching, sunny skies on one day. The next, Frosty with his slushy cold is waiting on your porch. Simple decisions are complicated, requiring more time and attention. Do you leave the house in a tank top, or a winter coat? To make it worse, allergies may have kicked-in making you feel a little foggy-headed and irritable.
Recently, my dear friend felt disillusioned with her in-between season. Believing it was God’s direction for her life, she left her job to pursue a ministry opportunity. Then, suddenly, her ministry dream dissolved right before her eyes. She’s seeking new endeavors now, but nothing is working out. She feels like God is preserving her for a special plan, but how can she know for sure? How can she prepare when she doesn’t know when the waiting season will finally end?
How do you live in-between seasons? How do you find hope and purpose when life feels pointless, unpredictable and stagnant?
1. Listen. Listening to God while living in-between seasons is imperative. He may talk to you about things that seem irrelevant at the time. Pay attention, He’s preparing you for the next season.
Listening Practice: To get started, find a quiet place and practice listening. Start with simple questions like, “God, what do you think about me?” Then, sit quietly, calm your mind and wait. It’s that simple. After some practice, then ask bigger questions about your purpose and the direction of your life.
2. Feel Anxious. If you worry to the point of fear, you will have trouble reaching your destiny. But being anxious for the next season of your life, feeling like you can’t wait to jump out of the starting gate . . . that’s passion. Without passion, you might stay stuck in the holding pattern. Allow yourself to feel passionate, and your passion will spur you toward hope.
3. Clean Your House. If you’re stuck in doors, in the middle of a chilly spring, clean your house. Then, when the weather clears, you have this task completed and you can enjoy the outdoors. When you’re living in-between seasons, life tends to slow down a bit. Take advantage of the time to complete the tasks you otherwise wouldn’t have time for.
4. Trust Your Journey. There is purpose found in every season of your life. We often cannot see the purpose until we have acquired hindsight. In the meantime, trust that God has a purpose for this season. Trusting God will lead to inner peace.

Happy b’day spring Angie! Spring means everything will get new clothes (nature). Spring awakening, like a new baby is born. We have different seasons in us. Darker times come and go, good times come and go. – Being patient and praying for a better time to come or searching for another dream that can be fulfilled and pursue this path. When one door is closing, God opens another! All things have a reason why they happen. Life means not always happiness. Obstacels are to endure and we have to deal with them. I tray not to dwell in bitterness. Loosing a job do not mean everything is lost and I will have a bad future. No the oposit is the case, it’s a challange to do something new. Or being recejcted form somebody else, like I have been sometimes from mum and dad because they thought I’m a no-good, if I would have known that I could bring everything to God and get comfort from him, I certainly had delt at this young age much better with this circumstances. Not thinking when I’m a no-good why should I make an effort to reach something in my life. But know I go towards God with my worries and doubts and I feel much better, because I’m not alone. We have to deal with the things happening in our lifes. Everyday happen things, which either make us happy or frustrated. – Easter-Blessings, Swiss-Rose

Angie,
A very thought provoking and insightful area on spiritual wellness in times of hardships or in this specific blog case on life’s alterations or it’s changed plans.
You asked: “What other tips have helped you during your in-between season? ”
One of the very first things that I do, is to re-evaluate. Sometimes, talking with family & others, praying and making further adjustments. Re-evaluating and developing a sound game plan(s)
In the Holy Bible…God teaches and guides us into some basic & fundamental principals on how to handle life, and to it’s un-foreseen circumstances. “It rains on the just and unjust.” And it needs time to heal when things go wrong. But, to be able to think on your feet, thinking clearly while making those sound adjustments.
“To improvise, overcome and adapt to the conditions.” A saying that I incorporated into my business, life and passion. A lot of truth to those above stated principals.
Life or a journey really has no certain set of assurances, except walking in faith and trusting in HIM. Following HIS Guidance Applying those lessons learned. Also, by developing communication with others and to be able to incorporate it’s game plan revisions–Sometimes, by improvising and adapting to the conditions. That in itself will help overcome.
Prayer and prayer support groups always helps-
A great blog Angie!
Happy Easter–Everyone!
