Kate Winslet: Woman of the Week

Kate Winslet is taking a stand for natural beauty by starting an “anti-cosmetic surgery league.“ It’s a bold move for an actress working in a field dominated by youthful beauty. I admire her decision to define beauty within the context of life experience, embracing her beauty in each present moment.
How far is too far? We might color our hair, glue on our nails and laser our unmentionables … but at what point does beauty maintenance and enhancement cross-over into altering our God-given beauty. At just 33 years old, it’s an easy call for me to make. Check back with me when I’m 73. I hope we’ll find that I’m still content with the way God made me – without succumbing to social pressures and invasive surgeries. In the end, each woman has to make her own choices about plastic surgery. It’s important for that decision to begin with confidence in who God’s created us to be. No surgery can make us feel good within.

Beauty comes from inside of us, no operation or a lot of makeup can help. But the world is mistaken/wrong because the most people believe in all this beauty fakes!! Why you dye your hair Angie?- Blessings, Rose

Yes cosmetic plastic surgeries and the like to try to appear better are sad. However the real reason for these drastic changes goes deeper emotionally often, and then of course there are straightening teeth (orthonontics), colouring hair to feel better for me, is not unlike getting hair cut and styled or dressing in a certain way. It may be about societal problems but may also be good in that if you feel better you may well do better. Again though Plastic surgery for fuller lips or tighter skin will not change the Heart as Swiss Rose well says.
