How I Met My Husband
Posted on 06. Apr, 2010 by Angie Wyatt in Blog
By popular demand, I bring you the story of how I met my husband. This is a story filled with divine providence and supernatural encounters. Our story is no ordinary love story.
A few years ago, I moved from Tulsa to Dallas to serve as a pastor at Gateway Church. I was thrilled with this calling, and threw myself into the ministry with gusto!
After living in Texas a few months, I began imagining myself married and in love. Unlike most women, this was a new experience for me. I had always been ministry focused, and wasn’t at all interested in dating. In fact, I hadn’t even had a boyfriend for over 5 years!
The months passed, and I started feeling anxious about marriage. I thought God might be preparing me for love, but I was scared. I didn’t want anything to distract me from my spiritual calling. I decided to pray.
In June 2007, I committed to 27 days of prayer directed toward my future in general. On the 27th night, I had a dream. The dream foretold of the man I would marry and the spiritual challenges we would conquer together. This confirmed my suspicion – God was indeed preparing me for marriage. With absolutely no prospects in sight, I waited. With each month, the desire for marriage grew and the waiting became more difficult.
The summer passed and I flew to Orange County for Labor Day weekend. While there, I had a special conversation with my dad. I shared my heart’s desire for marriage, and I asked him to pray for me.
The very next weekend, while preparing for his sermon at the Crystal Cathedral. My dad met Chris Wyatt. The moment my dad shook Chris’ hand, God told him, “You’re shaking the hand of your future son-in-law.” He later shared this with Donna and Bobby under strict confidence.
Chris was the interview guest that weekend for the Hour of Power broadcast. A former television executive, Chris was a new Christian convert who had recently moved to Dallas to attend seminary. While in seminary, he launched GodTube.com and it became a huge success. GodTube was the fastest growing website of 2007!
Following his televised interview, my dad and Donna visited with Chris and his parents. They encouraged Chris to call me upon his return to Dallas. Chris was too busy to date, and not interested in meeting me. But, Dr. Schuller just told him to call his daughter! What was Chris to do? He was stuck.
Meanwhile, my parents called to tell me about my upcoming blind date. I was less than thrilled. When I told my dad to pray for my husband, a blind date was not what I had in mind. I had already pegged Chris as a computer geek, stick-in-the-mud seminary student!
As promised, Chris called me the following week. We felt equally obligated to appease my dad, so we agreed to meet for dinner on September 14, 2007. To our surprise, the date was amazing! We dined for 4 hours!
The moment I walked into the room, God told Chris that I was his future wife. Consequently, Chris knew instantly what took me only three dates to discover . . . this was my husband. Nine months later, on 06.07.08, we were married by my brother Bobby Schuller at the Crystal Cathedral.
Was our meeting the power of Possibility Thinking at work? Or, was God perhaps speaking to our family through dreams, prayer and intuition? Share your thoughts.

Angie,
Great post! Thank you!!!
It gives me hope & inspiration to maybe meet my future wife…maybe in Vegas on a tour bus lol
Or not…lol
I do believe, sometimes God uses dreams and or visions to create a message. I believe that very much…
Can God predict the future…he knows. And so does Higher Power…the right way through divine intervention.
I know a few people personally, that have been touched by an angel. Not many understand the future…but they do. They work with God and will do his commands. There are reasons.
Also, I have met a few people that are God gifted, in that field too. Very inspired. And that may even be a God thing.
But, back to your story…is your husband a romantic at heart? Sounds like the past history was very magical between you two!
Great story! And thanks Angie!!!
Does your Dad love the thought that he was part of making that magical? I bet he enjoys…thinking about your story!
Very inspired!

Angie I wholeheartedly believe that God will speak to us about future events, we must only listen. I also believe that we MUST obey what we hear. The last relationship I was in neither myself or the woman I was dating obeyed what we knew the Lord was telling us. As a result I feel I have prolonged the wondrous relationship of marriage for myself and even more saddening may have inadvertently delayed that time for the woman whom I was dating as well. In fact what began as a fantastic friendship has only remnants remaining of being that.
Do not get me wrong, I know whatever God has planned WILL happen. However, I also believe that God put us in the beginning and already knows the end. The middle is all up to us, our free will, and obedience to Him. I pray that everyone have the wisdom and strength to obey our Lord.

Strong insisting Dad and Donna! God wanted through them to fulfill your dream/wish. Chris seems to b a polite personon, so he called you at the end. – I watch often the peaceful daily Talk Show fom Austrian TV. There a psychologist gives advices and comments to the talk guests, inspiring and helpful. She is charming and positiv sense, hard as nails. I begung to like her a lot. Summer 2007 I decided to write her an email to tell her all. It’s not selfevident that she writes back. In my body I have had such a strong feeling, telling me she will write back, God’s voice!! Not immediately, but in between about three days. No, a few hours and I got a message back. She was delighted to hear from me. She likes to connect with people like Donna. Wow… how God is miraculous!!! Since then I write her for her b’day and Christmas and I got up to to now wonderful answers. Blessings, Rose

Thank you for this wonderful story, so eloquently expressed. It didn’t happen 1,2,3 but I saw that it did happen on 06,07,08! I love numbers obviously but not as much as I loved the story!
May you enjoy a lifetime of more God ordained experiences!

To your final question Angie (“Do you believe that God speaks to His people about future events”?)
I do believe HE speaks to us all the time and we need to be open to that connection. Setting time to walk, hike or sit and “listen”, I know HE then inspires good things HE wants for us or for us to do!
Blessings

Angie: I also love the story. Both told by your Dad and by you. I do beleive that God speaks to us about the future . And help us see it through as he has planned. But we have to listen and trust him as we go.
God Bless . Cysradill

Congrats on the Epiphany Faith Awards nomination to ALN, Chris Wyatt and your Dad as well as you Angie for the work you put into getting the link to us and the interview.
I hope the Pilot gets to the curriculum of Christian Business programs.
It shows some important aspects of
relationships and how work can lead a person away from their goals even when it seems to them they are doing things right.
Great company at Awards with Disney’s
Earth, UP, Sandra Bullock and INVICTUS.
He is blessing you and yours

On my last blog about the Everyday Life pilot.
I forgot to put the link for any new followers who had not viewed the program so here it is:

Enjoy it. I have watched more that once as there is so much in the story the characters and about Faith when life is misleading you.
I wish I had seen it at business college years ago!
With His Love
